Animal Emergency and Specialty Care is seeking an additional board certified or board eligible critical care specialist to join our current criticalist. We are a multispecialty (surgery, critical care, radiology) small animal practice that shares space with and has a close collaborative relationship with other veterinary specialists including internal medicine, oncology, and
cardiology. Dermatology and ophthalmology are located in another building but always available for consultation/referral. We have a 24-hour ER staffed by intern-trained or many years-experienced ER doctors.
Our facility includes two surgical suites with arthroscopy, a large treatment room, digital radiology, ultrasound, and 4 slice helical CT. We are equipped to provide high quality intensive care and monitoring. Supportive care capabilities include oxygen therapy, transfusion therapy, advanced fluid support/fluid therapy. We offer extensive in-house laboratory capabilities such as blood gas and electrolytes, CBC, coagulation profiles and chemistry profiles.
Critical care doctors at AESC are primarily responsible for the direct management of hospitalized patients. We also consult on other specialty service cases, assist with procedures (e.g., pericardiocentesis, anesthesia for high-risk patients, etc.), and contribute to the in-house education of technicians and ER doctors. Our goal is to provide excellent patient care while
providing a positive experience for our clients and referring veterinarians. Our hospital strives for a culture of teamwork and collaboration while providing top notch care for patients and clients. We don’t want our doctors to burn out, and we strive to maintain a good work/life balance for each of our employees.
Criticalists are scheduled 8am-6pm, alternating 3 or 4 days/week. If you’re interested in Sun, Mon, Tues +/- Wed schedule- great! Our current criticalist covers other days of the week currently. If you’d envisioned a slightly different schedule, we are open to suggestions!
