Veterinary Assistant Part Time

Monona Veterinary Clinic in Madison, WI is looking for a part-time veterinary assistant to join our team.

We are a small animal, one doctor practice located in Madison, WI.

As a member of our team, your schedule will be highly flexible. However, the ideal hours we are looking to cover are Monday through Friday 9:30 AM to 1 PM and Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 4 PM to 7 PM.

As a veterinary assistant your responsibilities include, but are not limited to assisting the doctor, answering phones, scheduling appointments, client check-in, maintaining records, payment processing, and filling prescriptions.

About 50% of the time, you will be assisting the doctor which may include

• Restraining patients for exams, blood draws, and radiography
• Preparing vaccines, medications, and lab samples
• More depending on experience level

Our ideal veterinary assistant candidate has

• At least 1 year veterinary clinical experience
• Knowledge of common vaccine protocols
• Experience restraining animals for exams, blood draws, and radiographs
• A passion for the veterinary field and wants to learn more
